FAIRBORN, Ohio -- A repo man was nearly run over after he tried repossessing a car whose owner allegedly failed to pay the bill.

Fairborn police said the woman turned on the engine and pulled the man with the car until he fell.

"I could have very easily been killed," said the victim. "As I repossess the car, she kind of wanted to take me and the car for a nice ride, but I jumped off."

Police said the woman was behind in her car payments and the employee tracked her down to a park near Fairborn High School.

She allegedly gunned her engine, taking the repo man who was still hanging on to the car. "At that point it was full throttle and I was still on the car so I'm just glad that nobody got injured bad," said the repo man who wanted to remain anonymous.

Paul Hicks of the Fairborn Police Department said, "We were able to catch up to a point where she was getting on the highway. We stopped her here on the highway."

The woman was stopped on I-675. Officers said there was a teenager in the car with her.

"She did have a conversation with the officer acknowledging she was at the park and acknowledging she was driving the car," said Hicks.

The victim walked away with minor injuries. He said, "Just pretty much an ankle sprain, that's it. I got lucky I guess."
