Published: July 8, 2010 Press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office: At about 1:00 am this morning Deputies responded to a man with a gun call in the 3000 block of Brandice Circle in the Adamsville area of the county. They were advised that two black males had knocked on the door and told the residents they were taking their car. One of the subjects pointed a rifle at the victim and said “we can do this the hard way or we can do this the easy way. If ya’ll want to buck we can buck”. Deputies arrived on scene to find two black males matching the description given walking around a tow truck. The subjects stated that they were there to repossess the car. They could not produce any paperwork to validate this claim or indicate that they were an authorized agent of a finance company. The subjects were taken in to custody. A rifle and a handgun were recovered from inside the tow truck. Subjects are currently in the Jefferson County Jail. Arrested were: 20 year old B/M Kenneth McNeil Jr of Forestdale charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Disorderly Conduct and Carrying a Pistol Without License 18 year old B/M Larry James Knight of Bessemer charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Disorderly Conduct |
