Found our first hand gun in a repo today, do i leagally have to return the gun to him? and if i do should he have to prove its his? aand another thing I keep having people tell me i cant charge them for their personal property, i have always done it is this wrong also?

You don't mention what state you're in. We contact law enforcement to come and get the guns and run them through NCIC. Owner can claim their gun at the Law Enforcement Center.

As far as property, that depends on your state. Most states do no have any laws regarding property in a repo. There is no "law" that says you CAN but there is also no "law" that says you CAN'T.
We call this fee an "inventory fee" billed due to our time to inventory the car because our insurance does not allow debtors on our lot. We also provide the debtor with dry storage and insurance on their property while in our possession, therefore we charge an inventory fee.
